Opportunity import error | Updation | Import restrcition

Issue reported:

When trying to update opportunities using the opportunity import function, the following error is displayed in the import report as shown below.

Import parameter to be noted - Overwrite duplicates. Error message - "Creation of new opportunities is restricted".

The expected action is updation however, the error refers to the creation of new items.

Solution:

To update opportunities via import, it is required to ensure:

      1. The opportunity field value that is expected to be updated is present for all the records.

      2. All the opportunity fields that are configured in the opportunity duplicate detection rules are present for all the records in the import file.

The error mentioned above is expected to be displayed when fields/ field values (configured in duplicate detection rule) are missing in the import file for the opportunity records that are to be updated.
