Unable to View Attachment in the Converse

Scenario:  We received an image from the WhatsApp provider. We were able to view the attachment in the activity history; however, we encountered an error while trying to view the same image in Converse.

Additionally, we were able to download and view the image without any issues.




RCA:

The provider SINCH allows access to the media URL only from whitelisted IP addresses. Our current inbound processing runs on AWS Lambda, which does not have a fixed IP.

As a result, we were unable to fetch the file buffer from the media URL shared by the provider, which is why downloading the attachment from Converse was not working.



Outcome:

Currently, we are not able to support inbound media attachments from SINCH provider.
